Color:  Medium gold

Nose:  Powerful with pear, lemon, minerals

Taste: Rich with pear, apple, minerals, and very refreshing

Finish: Not heavy oak with rich fruits and minerals

Evaluation:  Perfect for Chardonnay lovers who don't like oak 91 points

2003 Chateau La Louviere Pessac Leognan White Bordeaux (Bordeaux) $$

Color:  Light gold

Nose:  Rich with floral, mineral, and pear

Taste:  Floral, mineral, pear, and peach

Finish:  Medium and pleasant

Evaluation:  Nice, inexpensive White Bordeaux 90 points

2004 Domaine Droughin de Vaudon Chablis (Burgundy) $$

Color:  Light yellow

Nose:  Pear, apple, mineral

Taste:  A light wine with pear, apple, mild oak

Finish:  Medium with pear, apple, mineral

Evaluation:  Not the powerhouse oaked wines of the US 86 points

2004 Louis Jadot Macon-Lugny Chardonnay (Burgundy)$

Color:  Light yellow

Nose:  Musty, mineral

Taste:  Mineral and crisp acidity

Finish:  Medium with mineral and a hint of citrus

Evaluation:  A simple Chardonnay that will work with appetizers prior to dinner.  84 points

2004 Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuisse (Burgundy) $$$

Color:  clear

Nose:  Musty with mineral

Taste:  Mineral with some fruit

Finish:  Crisp with mainly a mineral finish

Evaluation:  One dimensional wine.  82 points

2004 Roger Lassarat Pouilly-Fuisse Grand Vin De Bourgongne $$$ (Chardonnay)

Color:  light gold

Nose:  Oak, lemon, must, pear, apple

Taste:  Pear, apple, oak, vanilla, lemon, little tannic

Finish:  Smooth wine with pear, apple, oak, lemon

Evaluation:  Well made Burgundy Style Chardonnay.  88 points

2004 Mommessin Pouilly- Fuisse $$(Chardonnay)

Color:  Clear

Nose:  Floral, minerals

Taste:  Mineral, tropical fruit

Finish:  Nice fruit

Evaluation:  Simple wine that is well made 87 points

2004 Verget Chassagne Montrachet Pimont (Chardonnay) $$$

Color:  Light yellow

Nose:  Musty, mineral

Taste:  Musty, mineral, citrus fruits

Finish:  Short with mineral and citrus

Evaluation:  Not a powerhouse Chardonnay but enjoyable.  Little pricey.   87 points

2004 Verget "La Roche" Pouilly-Fuisse (Burgundy) $$

Color:  Medium yellow

Nose:  Pear, apple, mineral

Taste:  Clean with apple and pear

Finish:  Light with a medium finish

Evaluation:  Simple wine 82 points

2005 Chateau de la Roulerie Chaume (Loire) $$$$

Color:  Light

Nose:  Apricot, mineral

Taste:  Heavy mineral, apricot, tea

Finish:  Concentrated with mineral, tea, apricot on this medium finish

Evaluation:  Solid wine 88 points

2005 Chateau Suau Barsac (Sauternes) $$

Color:  Golden hue

Nose:  Mineral, floral and pear

Taste:  Sweet with honey, apple and floral

Finish:  Crisp with apple and mineral

Evaluation:  Solid.  86 points

Color:  Light, Clear

Nose:  Light floral

Taste:  Mineral and fruit

Finish:  Short but refreshing

Evaluation:  Nice light wine which would be served before

dinner with cheese, fruit, etc.  84 points

2005 Hippolyte Reverdy Sancerre $$

Color:  Light

Nose:  Fruity

Taste:  Tropical, mineral, mild sweetness

Finish:  Medium with nice fruits on the finish

Evaluation:  Not all mineral but nice fruit components.  86 points

2005 Lafage Centenaire Blanc $$

Color:  Light

Nose:  Floral

Taste:  Floral, spice

Finish:  Floral, spice, pepper

Evaluation:  A well made wine with some bite.  84 points

2005 Richard Bourgeois Sancerre (Loire Region) $$

Color:  Clear

Nose:  Mineral and flint

Taste:  Mineral, little floral note and dry

Finish:  Short with mineral

Evaluation:  A well made dry wine that would drink well alone or with seafood.  87 points

2005 Trimbach Alsace Riesling (Alsace) $$

Color:  Light gold

Nose:  Mineral and pear

Taste:  Mineral more specifically quartz

Finish:  Medium with a mineral note dominating

Evaluation:  So simple but really good.  Again why tasting notes don't always do a wine justice.  84 points

2005 Domaine Zind Humbrecht Alsace Gewürztraminer

Nose:  Intense with floral and honey suckles

Taste:  Sour, petroleum, bitter, floral notes

Finish:  Bitter and sour with floral and petroleum

Evaluation:  Had the intensity but not for everyone 84 points

2006 Fournier Pere & Fils Loire Sauvignon Blanc $$

Color:  Light gold

Nose:  Tropical fruit, mineral

Taste:  Tropical fruit, mineral, orange

Finish:  Medium with good acidity

Evaluation:  Well made for the money 87 points

Taste:  Bitter and acidic too a poor degree

Finish:  Out of balance

Evaluation:  Poor wine.  77 points

Nose:  Floral, mineral

Taste:  Little sweet with mineral, floral and melon

Finish:  Medium

Evaluation:  Good producer 86 points

2006 Paul Zinck vin d'Alsace Riesling (Alsace) $$

Color:  Medium gold

Nose:  Mineral

Taste:  Mineral and floral

Finish:  Light

Evaluation:  Simple wine 83 points

2006 Zind Humbrecht Alsace Riesling (Alsace) $$$

Color:  Medium yellow

Nose:  Floral, mineral, pear

Taste:  Touch of sweetness with mainly bitter profile.  Floral, pear, apple, mineral

Finish:  Intense with mineral, apple, floral and good acidity on this medium finish

Evaluation:  Nice overall wine but certainly a different style then German Riesling 89 points

2006 Zind Humbrecht Turckheim Herrenweg Alsace Riesling (Alsace) $$$$

Color:  Dark yellow

Nose:  Wow with floral, orange peel, spice, honey suckles

Taste:  Floral, orange peel, spice, floral, honey suckles all perfectly balanced

Finish:  Super concentrated wine with a powerful kick on this long finish

Evaluation:  The best white to date from France 94 points

2007 Chateau Bonnet Entre-Deux-Mers (Bordeaux) $$

Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Muscadelle

Color:  Medium gold

Nose:  Mineral, peach, floral

Taste:  Crisp acidity with floral, minerals, peach, limes

Finish:  Short with an intense up front component

Evaluation:  Solid intro to dry White Bordeaux 86 points

2007 Cave Des Vignerons De Saumur Chenin Blanc (Loire) $

Color:  Light gold

Nose:  Peach, floral

Taste:  Peach, lime, mineral

Finish:  Good acidity
