Color:  Medium purple

Nose:  Rustic, earth, forest floor, dirt

Taste:  Earth elements with medium tannins.  Multi layered

Finish:  Medium finish with fresh pine and tannic elements. 

Evaluation:  If you like earth forward wines you will love this wine.  It is well made and should improve with additional storage.  91 points

1999 Mas Cal Demoura Coteaux du Languedoc $$

Color:  Light red

Nose: Earth, musty

Taste:  Spice and earth

Finish:  Spice, earth

Evaluation:  Simple but pleasing 85 points

2004 Fat Bastard Cabernet $$

Color:  Purple

Nose:  Earth and red pepper

Taste:  Earth

Evaluation:  Not complex but ok for the price 82 points

2005 Fat Bastard Merlot $$

Color:  Purple

Nose:  Earth and plum

Taste:  Watery

Finish:  Earth and water

Evaluation:  Save your money.  76 points

2006 Chapoutier Cotes du Roussillon Villages Bila Haut Occultum Lapidem $$$

Color:  Dark purple

Nose:  Fresh with red pepper, cherry, plum,

Taste:  Good acidity with pepper, spices, cherry, minerals

Finish:  Medium and concentrated

Evaluation:  A really nice wine for $24 91 points

2006 Chapoutier Cotes du Roussillon Visitare Interiore Terrae $$$$

Color:  Dark purple

Nose:  Game, cherry, raspberries, stones

Taste:  Red meat with cherry, raspberries, and mineral elements

Finish:  Medium and concentrated

Evaluation:  Very nice wine 92 points
